Søren Robert Lund



Søren Robert Lund (born 19 June 1962) is a Danish architect with his studio located in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Lund studied architecture at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen from 1982–1989.
In 1988, still a student, he won the national competition for the Arken Museum of Modern Art in Ishøj, Denmark. He was awarded the first prize and the commission.
On 5 February 1991 he established his own studio, Søren Robert Lund, Architects.
Arken, still his most recognizable building, the museum established Lund as an architect able to handle a relatively large commission with a small practice while achieving a high level of design.

1988 National competition for the Arken Museum of Modern Art, Ishøj, Denmark. Awarded First prize and commission.

1989 International competition for the revival of the Library Building in the City of Alexandria,
Egypt. Awarded Special Merit.

1991 International ideas competition for a cultural centre in the City of Sarmarkand.

1996 Invited after the preliminary ideas stage to participate in the competition for a new Royal Theatre in the City of Copenhagen.

1997 Invited to submit a proposal for a Museum of Archeology in Herne, Germany.

1998 Invited to participate in the competition of a new visual identity of the headquarters of the Danish Contractors Organisation, Copenhagen. Awarded First prize and commission.

1999 Invited to submit proposal for the programming and urban structure of the BergWerke in Aahlen. Germany.

1999 Invited after pre-qualification to submit a proposal for the expansion of World Intellectual Property Organisations headquarters in Geneva.

2000 Invited after pre-qualification to submit a proposal for the new Danish Academy of Information Technology.

2001 Invited to submit a proposal for the Single-family House of the Future competition

2001 Housing in Trekroner, Roskilde. Awarded 1st prize

2001 Mythos. Master plan for leisure park area for the Olympic games in Athens.

2002 Competition for the northern Osaka Station Area in Japan

2003 Concert Hall, Stavanger, Norway

2004 Competition for a new Harbour front in Hirtshals, DK.
